Where did the weekend go?

The Hostesses at Thomas Gladden's Sip and See
Our weekends have been so hectic lately, I feel like they rush by so quickly. Our weekend started Friday afternoon when we, Casey, Miller and I, went to my Aunt Becky's House for Happy Hour. Happy Hour is a tradition that we started a couple of years ago. On Fridays after work, we (meaning me, my mom, my aunt, the Abel girls, and several other friends) get together for wine and snacks. We always have visitors drop in and out. We have the best time just laughing and giving a recap of our week. On Saturday morning I got up early and went to Birmingham with my mom to take care of some wedding stuff. First, we went to Bella Bridesmaid in Edgewood to look at several dresses for my bridesmaids. Charlotte and Jeana Lee from BB are so sweet and helpful! We have it narrowed down to 3, so hopefully I can make my  mind up this week. After BB, Mom and I walked over to Engaged because they were having a cake tasting. Oh my goodness, those cakes were DELICIOUS! We had planned to eat lunch, but after all that cake we were stuffed! So after eating our weight in wedding cake, we went to Jan Pruitt's home. Jan will be penning my invitations for me. Jan is so amazingly talented. I cannot wait to see what she will design for our wedding invitation. While Mom and I were running around Jefferson County, Casey and Miller stayed around Gadsden and did "boy stuff", which includes anything with 4 wheelers, lawn mowers and jet ski's. When I got home from Birmingham, Casey, Miller and I met some friends at Maters. We had a great time sitting outside, eating, people watching and chatting. After we got home, Casey and I both did a little packing. The next morning, we met our friends Bo and Jennifer Arthur at Classic on Noble for brunch. We have eaten at Classic several times, but never for brunch. David Mashburn is catering our wedding and had told us about his brunch, so we knew it would be delicious. We were amazed at all the food! Of course we had to try one of everything. Miller loved the kids table- it was adorable-everything was mini. David was so excited to see us, that he treated the 5 of us to brunch! Just a little side note- if anyone needs catering for an event, David Mashburn is the absolute best! Not only is his food delicious, but he is so organized and prepared and really listens to everything you want. We ate so much that we basically crawled out of there. That afternoon I was helping give a Sip and See for one of my best friends, Amy Gladden and her precious baby Thomas.  The Sip and See was perfect. I had the best time visiting with everyone and celebrating precious Thomas' arrival. While I was sipping and seeing, Casey and Miller were swimming at Pop and Janie's pool. Casey said they
No tan lines for Miller!
didn't exactly plan to swim, so he did not take a swimsuit for Miller. This was Miller's first time in the water this year. Casey said he had a blast! We will be going to the beach soon, so I hope his love for the water does not fade.
This week will be filled with work, planning and packing to move and packing for the beach.

Welcome to our blog!

So, this is my first post. No one really explained how difficult this was to get started. Anyway, I wanted to start this blog as kind of a journal for our family. A good friend of ours made a book out of her blog post, and I thought it was so cute! As a young family, there are so many fun memories that I find myself forgetting about next month. With this blog, I am hoping to keep record of our wonderfully, crazy, hectic life. Enjoy!
